Artist's Comments

Here's a three point perspective assignment that I had to do for drawing class. I didn't want to do the typical skyscraper thing.... I tried to, but after 9 hours or so, I got frustrated and started over and tried something different. This is my girlfriend wrapped in a blanket from a very low angle... I haven't quite figured out how to draw facial features with charcoal yet, so I left that as a blur...

Edit*** After Spring break, I will add the touched up version of this drawing with the face and improved shading in the hair and body, so keep an eye out for it.

Edit 2*** I drew a face in, even though it's not really her face... the fixative that I used on it prevented me from touching it up as much as I wanted to. Oh well...

Thank you... my professor feels that this is a one-point perspective, but the design makes it convincing as a three point drawing... He also said that it's a multipoint perspective too, so that kind of discredits the one point perspective argument... He liked it regardless, and I must say that I do too.

Let's just say that there were moments that I was afraid that it wasn't going to make it. I already scrapped a few drawings before this, but I HAD to have something, so I kept going with it... I'm pretty glad I did.

Thank you. I just added the face to it, although it may not exactly be April's face. I'll post that up sometime soon after Spring Break, when I get my portfolio back.
