Artist's Comments

Here's a three point perspective assignment that I had to do for drawing class. I didn't want to do the typical skyscraper thing.... I tried to, but after 9 hours or so, I got frustrated and started over and tried something different. This is my girlfriend wrapped in a blanket from a very low angle... I haven't quite figured out how to draw facial features with charcoal yet, so I left that as a blur...

Edit*** After Spring break, I will add the touched up version of this drawing with the face and improved shading in the hair and body, so keep an eye out for it.

Edit 2*** I drew a face in, even though it's not really her face... the fixative that I used on it prevented me from touching it up as much as I wanted to. Oh well...

I guess that there are elements of foreshortening in it. Most people that I know don't particularly like to draw foreshortened figures because it throws off the proportion, but for some reason, I do... I like looking at figures from different angles and poses. Probably in about a week or two, I'll post the updated image with a face and some touched up shading.

Thank you for the kind words and the favorite... I've really been practicing.

Love the angle, great perspective, definitely better than a skyscraper

:wow: very nice perspective! I guess it was difficult to draw, wasn't it?
Very nice shading! Her face is the only point I would critisize negatively. Nice pic at all! :P

Yeah, I agree with you about the face. It looks nothing like her. I originally had the face blurred out (to keep it ambiguous) and I had used fixative spray on it. I changed my mind and decided to include her face, but the fixative disagreed with that notion and didn't allow me to erase like I wanted to. Anyhow, I liked it overall. Maybe someday I'll do a remake of this piece. Thanks for your compliments.
